Out Of The Frying Pan...

Beer guzzling Germans are growing so obese that crematorium furnace entrances are being enlarged to allow XXL coffins to squeeze through.

Funeral directors say the doors are being widened nationwide by up to 10 inches to cope with the new size of the bodies now arriving for cremation in a land famous for loving its lager and sausage snacks.

"Ever increasing sizes of coffins means crematorium sizes are having to be increased. The way people die is a reflection of the way they live," explained Rolf Lichtner, from the German Association of Funeral Directors.
