Taxing Time

Drunken Chinaman Lee Ting, 26, and Chung Yu, 42, were so furious after a succession of taxis refused to pick them up that when one did stop - they gave the unlucky driver a savage beating at Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu province.

The paid had been drinking rice wine all night and decided to get a taxi home in the early hours of the morning, but because they were obviously drunk a succession of taxis refused to stop - making the pair hopping mad.

In the end when Taxi driver Wang Hu, 51, finally stopped, the pair dragged him out of the car and beat him senseless.

The driver who was hospitalised after a passer by called police said: "They told it was to teach me a lesson for not stopping, but I'd never seen them before. This is the last time I pick up a drunk."
