Prison Break
A convicted killer suing prison authorities in Sweden claims she is owed compensation because she's never had paid holiday from her job behind bars.
Natalia Pshenkina - serving life in a Ystad prison for the murder of her boyfriend - claims she worked for two years without a break, in breach of the country's liberal labour laws.
In a complaint to Sweden's Justice Chancellor she said: "I asked the head of production about which times during the year the prison allows vacation time for inmates. The answer was that the prison doesn't have any vacation time at all."
Now the killer wants cash she says she is owed for the 25 days holiday a year guaranteed to Swedish workers by law.
But the country's prison service has vowed to fight the claim.
Spokesman Anders Annerfalk said:"Prisoners aren't employed by us and therefore laws about vacation time don't apply."
