Sky Light Flight
A prisoner was able to flee his cell in Bochum, Germany, after dozy builders knocked a hole in the ceiling - and then knocked off for the day.
Pole Marcin Holviski, 47, was able to climb out of the roof top hole fitted for a new skylight and escape without trace.
According to the prison spokesperson Friedhelm von Meissner, builders had not finished the job properly, enabling the prison to make his escape.
He said: "The sky light would have stopped the problem - it was made of safety glass and was double glazed but only if it was in place and locked."
The prisoner was serving a sentence for repeated theft.
