Over the hill Greens
Green campaigners are calling for bizarre new bike lifts to make even the laziest cyclist feel he is not quite over the hill yet.
The lifts - to be introduced by Green politicians in Zurich, Switzerland - pull bikers up to the top of steep hills like ski lifts to take all the effort out of cycling.
"More people would use bicycles if they didn't have to climb so many hills. Not just here but in any city," Greens transport campaigner Guido Trevisan said.
Engineers are studying a network of bike lifts already in operation in Norway, say officials.
