Men who spend too much time on their mobile phones can end up infertile, a new report by Italian medics has revealed.
Experiments show that cellphone signals make sperm so sluggish that they are no longer active enough to conceive, says the study by Rome's La Sapienza University.
Study head Andrea Lenzi explained: "There is a correlation between cellphone use and a worsening in sperm mobility. The waves appear to put the sperm to sleep."
The study, which examined sperm from men using cellphones from a minimum of half an hour to a maximum of four hours a day, will be presented at a medical congress in Modena today (Thursday).
