Jolie movie: new snub

Angry women's groups have rejected Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie's new peace-making bid to allow her Balkans war film to be shot in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The film - about a woman who falls in love with her rapist during the conflict - has infuriated care groups representing women victims of the war.

Jolie's permission to film in the country was withdrawn in the row.

Now local newspaper Dnevni Avaz has reported that the star has sent a new letter to the Women War Victims group saying she wants to meet them.

"I would like to assure you that it was always my intention that this story, which is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, would be told with dignity and respect for people of your country," she said in the note delivered by the UNHCR, where she is a goodwill ambassador.

But WWV president Bakira Hasecic said: "Americans are very skillful in sympathising, but after they've got what they want."
