Lay-in- by

Exhausted lorry driver Han Ching, 43, and his Pal Lu Yin, 38, ended up in hot water with the police after they decided to have a lay-in on a lay-by.

The pair set up a tent on the tarmac after their air conditioning broke down and made it too hot to sleep in the cab in Hangzhou, eastern China.

But horrified motorists reported them to police after another lorry almost flattened the men going past them.

"Far from being grateful, the driver told the officers we are always complaining if he drives for too long without sleep and it was far too hot in the cabin to sleep," said a police spokesman.
