Gumshields for boxer dogs

It could be the answer to a postman's prayer.

In the week when Royal Mail staff are being asked to try out hissing sprays to put off aggressive dogs, inventors have come up with a new way to stop pets putting the bite on mailmen.

Swiss company Saciri has launched a range of boxer-style gumshields for dogs which they claim neutralises their bites by up to 90 per cent.

"We got the idea from the boxing ring and thought - well what about boxer dogs. The dogs seem to like them because they've always got something to chew.

"And anyone making a delivery will certainly be grateful that all they'll get now is a nasty suck," said a spokesman.
