Vandals scrambled a 20,000 GBP art exhibition when they broke into a studio and scrawled 'Happy Easter' over a giant stone egg.
The sculpture - which was supposed to symbolise man's creativity - was daubed with bright green paint in the attack at Nahrendorf, Germany.
A police spokesman said: "The work has just been finished and was due for delivery. The artist says it has now been ruined."
"It took him months to create and these idiots destroyed it in seconds," said one fan.
