After his blood

Keen gardener Lai Hui has half of China after his blood - after he posted pictures of himself using blood plasma to perk up his plants on the internet.

Lai, 30, describes in detail how he dilutes the plasma in water and shows how the life-saving nutrients in the mixture cause his blooms to grow stronger and healthier.

But furious responders to his internet guide have accused health chiefs in Chengdu, central China, of wasting vital health resources.

In China, all adults are encouraged to give blood to help the country's massively overstretched health service.

Now two health workers have been sacked by Chengdu Hygiene Bureau which claims the plasma was disposed of because it had become contaminated in storage.

"I did nothing wrong but now everyone is after me," said Lai.
