Robot to broadcast SMS messages at Museumsquartier

Whoever wants to make a public announcement in the central courtyard of Vienna’s Museumsquartier from 4 to 12 December will be able to do so using a SMS and a robot.

Slovene media artist Martin Bricelj will have his large RoboVox set up there on the occasion of the 120th Roböxotica Festival in quarter 21. It will be accessible by SMS and will broadcast out loud any messages it receives.

The interactive sound installation will come to Vienna after stops in Danish Aalborg, Ljubljana, Maribor and London.

Museumsquartier said in a press release that the goal of the interactive-sound project was to address controversial issues and gather an impression of the thinking of society.
