Three road deaths on Sunday

By David Rogers

A Swiss couple were killed instantly when their motorbike ploughed into a car yesterday (Sun) near Wörgl, Tyrol.

Police investigating the crash said the pair, aged 68 and 67, appeared to have been trying to pass another vehicle when the accident occurred.

The driver of the car, from Innsbruck-Land district, was unhurt.

Meanwhile a German man, 58, died in Lochau in Vorarlberg’s Bregenz district yesterday evening after a teenager went through a stop sign and crashed into his motorbike.

The 18-year-old woman from Feldkirch failed to stop at a junction and the force of the crash sent the man’s car skidding across the road, into a street sign and then flipping over. He was killed instantly. The female driver suffered light injuries.
