Man´s face ripped by freak crane hook accident

A plumber was hospitalised after a crane hook ripped open his face.

The 48-year-old had been loading material onto a crane at a construction site in Damüls in Vorarlberg’s Bregenz district when a hook on the machine came loose and got embedded in his face as the crane driver began lifting the load.

The man was transported by helicopter to Feldkirch provincial hospital for treatment.
