Van man chases down crook

A 52-year-old man chased down a crook who stole his camper van after he spotted him driving past his house in it.

The man had realised his van had been stolen this morning (Weds) as he went to work, but spotted it being driven past his house just minutes later.

He jumped in his car and tore after the thief who abandoned the van and fled after a high speed chase through St. Florian in Linz-Land district.

The man said the thief had put Polish license plates on the camper and when he opened it up he found three bicycles, two high-pressure cleaning devices, a lawn-mower and a number of other items which later turned out to have been stolen from the garage of another St. Florian resident last night.
