Top That - Worlds Longest Pizza

Top that. Proud Italian chefs have lost a little slice of their history after a team of cooks from Poland stole their world record for the world's longest pizza.

The team, from Krakow, used three and a half tons of flour to make the dough for the dish which measured up at 1,100 metres more than double the previous record set in Tuscany three years ago.

And to top it off, they needed 1,500 litres of tomato sauce sprinkled with more than 1,600 kilos of mozzarella cheese to complete the 18 hour cooking marathon.

But despite beating the Italians at their own game, the result didn't last long and every inch of the pizza was sliced up and served to helpers and fans after Guinness World Records officials had measured it.

Official Raymond Marshall said: "This record was an achievement which required unrivaled levels of planning, patience, team collaboration, determination and execution."
