My wife and I have financial investments with Bank Austria so we are tracking quite closely what is going on with the EU. That being said, Herr Chambers' essay is so far the best of all the writings I have read on the matter to date, most of which appear to be more sensationalistic than anything else. And I tend to agree with Herr Chambers' viewpoint that it is Frau Merkel who is "gumming up" the works in all these current summits. As esteemed economist Dr. Michael Hudson has been saying for months now, "Debts that cannot be repaid won't be.", should be used as a guide as to what is actually going to happen in the coming months, which will most likely see the southern European countries leaving the Euro maintaining the Euro as a strong currency. As the British statesman, Nick Farage has said, these countries should have never been allowed into the EMU in the first place since a single currency cannot be sustained with such diversity in the economies of the various nations. The original 9 countries to the EMU should have been left as is...

Of course, most people still are mistakenly under the impression that millions died in gas chambers at Auschwitz (never mind that Auschwitz officially reduced the death toll in 1990 from 4 million down to 1,5 million of ALL persons interned there, and due to all reasons, including old age, diseases, etc. Hence the exaggerated reaction to the sign, even though Auschwitz was certainly not a pleasant place to be, to put it mildly. Most likely, these were the complaints of one or two uninformed persons. Regarding Auschwitz, the words of celebrated survivor Primo Levi, says it best in his book on his experiences there: "...in any case, the important thing for the camp is NOT that the most useless prisoners be eliminated..." Primo (a Polish Jew) makes other similar statements contradicting entirely the standard exterminationists view of Auschwitz, such as the fact that he could never understand why "those selected for the gas chambers due to their frail health, were given double-rations for two or three days, sometimes much longer." Obviously, the intention was not to gas them. Nevertheless, I appreciate the fact that the sign might upset certain persons, and it is insensitive on the owners part to display the sign in such a visible manner.

Climate change is happening globally. It's causing unpredictable weather changes like longer than usual drought and floods in places where they have never been experienced before. Climate change is expected to reverse peoples' human development and now it is time to invest in technology that enables communities to gain access to energy that does not produce greenhouse gases. Documentary "Climate Change" talks about the same issue. This documentary gives a quick overview of the efforts undertaken by UNDP to support such technology.
